Marc Marquez Struggles with Corner Speed at Silverstone
Marc Marquez faced challenges during Practice at Silverstone, finishing seventh and over seven tenths behind the leading Aprilia of Marco Bezzecchi. He acknowledged that he is now slower in corners that were once his strengths, attributing this decline to ongoing physical limitations.
During the session, Marquez trailed Fabio di Giannantonio's VR46 Ducati by more than three tenths of a second. He expressed that his riding style, which has been effective in the past, now leaves him vulnerable at fast circuits like Silverstone. Despite his efforts, he is struggling to adapt and recover in areas where he previously excelled.
As he aims for a tenth world title, Marquez is focusing on maximizing opportunities at tracks where he has historically performed well. He admitted that breaking into the top five at Silverstone will be a challenge, as both Di Giannantonio and Alex Marquez have shown better pace. Marquez noted that while he feels slightly more optimistic than at Assen, the Aprilia bikes remain a step ahead in flowing corners.
