Marco Bezzecchi Reflects on Aragon MotoGP Sprint Race Setback
Marco Bezzecchi faced a significant challenge during the MotoGP Aragon GP sprint race after a strong performance in practice and qualifying. Despite starting from pole position, Bezzecchi lost the lead early in the race to Marc Marquez, who outbraked him into Turn 1, with Alex Marquez also overtaking him shortly after.
Bezzecchi, who used a soft rear tyre, struggled to keep pace with the faster Ducatis, finishing in third place. He acknowledged that maintaining the lead could have improved his chances for a win but admitted that he lacked the speed compared to his competitors. He also noted that an injured left knee affected his performance.
While Bezzecchi was the only frontrunner to choose the soft tyre, he defended his decision, stating that he felt confident with it throughout the day. He expressed satisfaction with his performance, especially considering Aprilia has not won at Aragon, and he gained ground in the championship standings against Jorge Martin.
