Marco Bezzecchi Reflects on Misano Crash and Title Challenge
Marco Bezzecchi experienced a setback during the San Marino Grand Prix, where he crashed while leading the race. Despite achieving pole position with a record lap, he lost control of his bike at Turn 13, resulting in a slide into the gravel before completing a full lap.
This incident marks another challenge in Bezzecchi's title pursuit, leaving him 33 points behind the championship leaders, Marc Marquez and Jorge Martin. He acknowledged the difficulty of accepting the crash but aimed to focus on the positives from the weekend, including his strong qualifying performance and improved start.
Bezzecchi clarified that he did not feel excessive pressure during the race and noted that mistakes can happen regardless of the location. He explained the crash was due to mismanagement of his braking point while handling a full fuel tank. Fortunately, initial assessments indicated that he did not worsen previous injuries to his collarbone and knee.
