Marco Bezzecchi Secures Third Place in British Grand Prix Sprint Despite Exhaustion

Marco Bezzecchi finished third in the British Grand Prix sprint on Saturday, exceeding his own expectations despite battling exhaustion and pain from recent injuries.

The Aprilia rider had a challenging day, having topped the main practice session on Friday. During qualifying, he pushed himself to secure a spot on the second row of the grid with a time of 1m56.183s, which added to his physical strain.

In the sprint, Bezzecchi managed to recover from a slow start, overtaking Marc Marquez and Fabio di Giannantonio to claim his first Sprint podium since June. He acknowledged feeling extremely tired and struggled with pain, particularly in his shoulder and knee, after undergoing surgery a month prior. Looking ahead to Sunday’s race, he expressed concerns about maintaining his speed over a longer distance.
