Marcus Davenport Expected to Join the Bears
Marcus Davenport is reportedly set to join the Chicago Bears, marking a move within the NFC North.
According to CBS Sports' Matt Zenitz, Davenport had a visit with the Bears on Sunday, leading to expectations of his signing. The 29-year-old defensive player has spent the last two seasons with the Detroit Lions and played for the Minnesota Vikings in 2023. In 2025, he recorded one sack and three quarterback hits over eight games, starting seven of them. He faced injury challenges, missing significant time last season due to a chest injury after a triceps injury ended his 2024 season.
Davenport was selected as the No. 14 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft and spent his first five seasons with the New Orleans Saints, accumulating 25.0 career sacks, 28 tackles for loss, and 71 quarterback hits.
