Marcus Ericsson Claims Victory at Markham IndyCar Race
Marcus Ericsson achieved a significant victory at the inaugural Ontario Honda Dealers Indy in Markham, ending a 63-race winless streak. The Andretti Global driver overcame a 2.6-second deficit in the closing laps to pass Romain Grosjean, finishing 7.5305 seconds ahead.
After pitting from the lead with 21 laps remaining, Ericsson dropped to seventh but quickly regained ground on fresh tires. He took the lead from Grosjean with five laps to go, ultimately securing his fifth career IndyCar win and his first since St. Petersburg earlier this year.
This race also marked Grosjean's return to the podium for the first time since the 2023 season. Will Power, who started in last place, finished third, contributing to a strong performance for Andretti Global.
