Marcus Herbert Re-signs with West Coast Eagles Until 2028
Marcus Herbert, a mid-season draftee for the West Coast Eagles, has signed a two-year contract extension that will keep him at the club until 2028. This decision comes despite interest from rival team Carlton, which had also offered him a similar deal.
Herbert joined the Eagles in May after being selected at pick 13, following a successful stint with Geelong's VFL side. Since making his debut in round 15 against North Melbourne, he has played 10 consecutive games, including a standout performance in Round 20 during his first Western Derby, where he achieved a game-high 36 disposals.
Matt Clarke, the head of list management and recruiting for the Eagles, praised Herbert's quick adaptation and impact on the team. Clarke expressed excitement about Herbert's future and anticipated his continued development as a player.
