Maresca Aims to Strengthen Manchester City Squad Before Transfer Deadline
Enzo Maresca, the manager of Manchester City, indicated that the team is looking to make additional signings before the transfer window closes.
Maresca is particularly interested in acquiring an experienced leader to bolster the squad, which has seen the departure of key players such as Bernardo Silva, John Stones, Nathan Ake, and Rodri this summer. Following a youthful lineup in their recent 2-1 victory over Bournemouth, he believes that adding senior figures would be beneficial.
Reports suggest that Manchester City may pursue Enzo Fernandez, who captained Chelsea last season, before the transfer deadline on September 1. Maresca noted that while Ruben Dias and Erling Haaland currently serve as captains, the team could benefit from one or two more leaders. Additionally, Ayyoub Bouaddi is set to join the squad after completing a €100 million transfer from Lille, while Jack Grealish's future remains uncertain amid interest from Sunderland.
