Marianne Vos Secures Second UCI Gravel World Title in Australia
Marianne Vos achieved her second UCI Gravel World Championship title on Saturday in Nannup, Australia, after a competitive race against Rosa Klöser, while Sofia Gomez Villafañe from the U.S. finished in sixth place.
The race was marked by a serious crash involving Geerike Schreurs and Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio, which drew attention away from the competition. Vos crossed the finish line solo, 27 seconds ahead of Klöser, who lost control in the final kilometers. Larissa Hartog secured the bronze medal for the Netherlands.
The challenging 125.6km course featured significant elevation and was the first gravel world championship held outside Europe. Vos's victory adds to her impressive tally of 15 world titles across various cycling disciplines.
