Mariners Add Stuart Fairchild to Roster Amid Injury

The Seattle Mariners have announced the selection of outfielder Stuart Fairchild's contract, replacing Víctor Robles, who has been placed on the family medical emergency list. To accommodate Fairchild on the 40-man roster, outfielder Brennen Davis has been recalled and placed on the 60-day injured list due to a left hamstring strain.

Fairchild previously had a brief appearance with the Mariners earlier this season, where he played one game as a pinch runner. After being designated for assignment, he cleared waivers and re-signed with the team on a minor league deal, which enabled his current roster addition. Known for his defensive skills, Fairchild has a batting line of .221/.309/.377 over 697 plate appearances in the majors, along with 27 stolen bases.

The Mariners' outfield includes players such as Julio Rodríguez and Randy Arozarena, and Fairchild is expected to serve primarily as a late-game substitute. Meanwhile, Davis's injury has effectively ended his season, and he will enter 2027 without options after using his final one this year.
