Mariners Assign Stuart Fairchild to Triple-A Tacoma

Stuart Fairchild has cleared waivers and been assigned to Triple-A Tacoma after being designated for assignment by the Mariners.

The Seattle Mariners have announced that outfielder Stuart Fairchild has cleared waivers and will be assigned to Triple-A Tacoma. This decision follows his designation for assignment earlier in the week.

Fairchild, known for his defensive skills, has recorded a batting line of .221/.309/.377 over 697 plate appearances in the major leagues across six seasons. He has also achieved 27 stolen bases and has been recognized for his defensive contributions with 10 Defensive Runs Saved and 10 Outs Above Average in 1,561 innings in the outfield.

Having exhausted his options, Fairchild has become a journeyman player, having previously played for teams including Arizona, San Francisco, Cincinnati, Atlanta, and Cleveland. While he has the option to elect free agency, it is likely he will report to Triple-A Tacoma, especially with the season nearing its end. Remaining with the Mariners would keep him eligible for postseason play, although the team would need to overcome significant challenges to qualify.
