Mariners Seek Joe Espada for Managerial Position

The Seattle Mariners are in search of a new manager following the departure of Dan Wilson and have been granted permission to interview Joe Espada, who is currently managing the Houston Astros.

Espada's contract with the Astros is set to expire at the end of the month, and while the team has not officially moved on from him, there are expectations that they will seek a new manager. The Astros recently concluded their season after winning the AL West but were eliminated in the Wild Card round.

Espada has a notable coaching background, having served as a bench coach for the Astros and previously working with the Marlins and Yankees. Despite recent challenges faced by the Astros, including player departures and injuries, Espada's reputation remains strong, and he is likely to attract interest from other teams if not hired by the Mariners.
