Mariners Send Connor Joe and Nolan Kingham to Triple-A Tacoma
The Seattle Mariners have announced that infielder/outfielder Connor Joe and right-handed pitcher Nolan Kingham have cleared waivers and will be sent to Triple-A Tacoma. This decision follows their designation for assignment earlier in the week as the team expanded its active roster.
Connor Joe, who is 34 years old, was signed to a minor league contract in the offseason and made his way to the major league roster in April. He participated in 21 games, recording 45 plate appearances, but struggled against left-handed pitchers this season. Despite having the option to elect free agency due to his service time, it remains unclear if he will pursue that route.
Nolan Kingham, who recently joined the Mariners after being claimed off waivers, has made only one major league appearance, allowing one run in one inning. As this is his first outright assignment and he has less than three years of service time, he is required to accept the assignment to Triple-A Tacoma. His performance in Triple-A this season includes a 6.34 earned run average over 61 innings.
