Marketa Vondrousova Appeals Four-Year Doping Ban

Marketa Vondrousova, the former Wimbledon champion, has appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport regarding her four-year ban for refusing an anti-doping test. The ban was imposed by the International Tennis Integrity Agency after she denied a doping control officer access to her home in December 2025.

The suspension, which is set to last until June 21, 2030, was confirmed by CAS, although no hearing date has been scheduled yet. Vondrousova, who won Wimbledon in 2023 as an unseeded player, stated that she was under significant stress at the time of the incident and felt unsafe when the officer arrived.

A tribunal found that Vondrousova did not provide sufficient justification for her refusal to take the test. She has not competed since January and has fallen to 153rd in the WTA rankings.
