Marlins Place Pete Fairbanks on 15-Day Injured List

The Miami Marlins have announced that right-handed pitcher Pete Fairbanks has been placed on the 15-day injured list due to irritation of the right median nerve. In a corresponding move, left-hander Dax Fulton has been recalled to the team.

This injury follows a recent game against the Boston Red Sox, where Fairbanks entered the ninth inning with the score tied at 2-2. He walked a batter and was subsequently removed from the game due to the injury, which contributed to the Marlins losing 4-2.

Fairbanks has a history of nerve issues, including a previous diagnosis of Raynaud’s syndrome, which can cause numbness in the fingers. He has struggled this season with a 6.02 earned run average, although he showed improvement in his last 11 appearances with a 1.80 ERA. The Marlins, currently four games behind in the Wild Card race, will need to adjust their bullpen as they continue their playoff push without Fairbanks for at least the next 15 days.
