Marlins Players Jakob Marsee and Tyler Zuber Scheduled for Elbow Surgery
Miami Marlins outfielder Jakob Marsee and right-handed pitcher Tyler Zuber are set to undergo elbow surgeries following consultations with Dr. Keith Meister at the end of the season.
Marsee will have an internal brace procedure to address a UCL injury in his throwing arm, which is anticipated to keep him out for six months. Despite not showing signs of injury during the season, he experienced elbow discomfort towards the end, although it did not hinder his performance, particularly in September when he achieved a .985 OPS.
Zuber, who was placed on the injured list due to a right elbow sprain, will also undergo an internal brace procedure for his UCL and is expected to be out for 10 to 12 months. He had a 5.67 ERA over 44 appearances this season, but showed improvements in his walk rate and other metrics. The Marlins will need to adjust their bullpen for the upcoming season as they face multiple long-term injuries.
