Marlins Recall Agustin Ramirez Amid Roster Changes

The Miami Marlins are set to recall catcher Agustin Ramirez as part of multiple roster changes. This decision comes after the team traded Liam Hicks to the Rays, creating a vacancy at catcher and designated hitter.

Alongside Ramirez's return, the Marlins are activating right-handed pitcher Josh Ekness from the 60-day injured list, who will replace Dax Fulton in the bullpen. Additionally, Jack Ralston has had his contract selected and will fill one of the openings on the 40-man roster.

Ramirez had a promising rookie season but struggled defensively, leading to his earlier demotion. He has primarily played catcher at Triple-A this season. Ekness returns after recovering from a calf strain, while Ralston has performed well in the minors, boasting a 1.31 ERA over 55 innings.
