Marlins Remove Five Players from 40-Man Roster
The Miami Marlins have begun their offseason roster adjustments by outrightting five players from their 40-man roster. This move includes catchers Logan Driscoll and Brian Navarreto, as well as right-handed pitchers Tyler Zuber, Wikelman González, and Zach Brzykcy.
Driscoll, who will turn 29 soon, did not see any major league action this year after being acquired from Tampa Bay. He played 77 games at the Triple-A level, posting a batting line of .269/.367/.422. Navarreto, who is set to turn 32 in December, had 61 plate appearances with the Marlins, hitting .135/.193/.250. He has been a part of both the Minnesota and Miami organizations throughout his career.
Zuber, the most experienced player among those outrighted, pitched 39 2/3 innings for the Marlins this season with a 5.67 ERA. He is expected to miss most of the 2027 season due to an upcoming elbow procedure. Brzykcy, who has struggled in the majors, and González, who spent the year in Triple-A, were also part of this roster change.
