Marquez Advises Hadjar to Prioritize Recovery Over Racing
Marc Marquez has recommended that Isack Hadjar not race at Zandvoort due to concerns about worsening his wrist injury. Hadjar sought Marquez's guidance before making his decision, as both share a physiotherapist and Marquez has personal experience with the repercussions of returning from injury too soon.
Marquez previously faced significant setbacks in his career after attempting a premature return from a broken arm in 2020, which led to additional surgeries and prolonged recovery. He emphasized that missing a single race is not critical, while risking further injury could have lasting consequences.
Following Marquez's advice, Hadjar withdrew from the Dutch Grand Prix, with Liam Lawson stepping in as his replacement at Red Bull. Yuki Tsunoda also returned to the team for the weekend. Red Bull is hopeful that Hadjar will be fit to compete at the upcoming Monza race, although his return has not yet been confirmed.
