Former Melbourne AFL player Marty Hore is making his return to the field with Rochester in the Goulburn Valley League after a year away due to injuries.

Marty Hore, a former player for the Melbourne Demons, is preparing to return to competitive football this weekend with the Rochester Tigers in the Goulburn Valley League. This marks his first game since leaving the AFL, where he faced numerous injuries that impacted his career.

After being delisted in 2025, Hore spent the past year working on his family’s dairy farm in Leitchville, milking 750 cows. He has been gradually recovering from knee surgery earlier this year and has been training intensively to regain his fitness.

Hore, who was initially drafted by Melbourne in 2019 and played 14 games, faced setbacks including shoulder and knee injuries that led to his departure from the AFL. He has maintained contact with Rochester, where he hopes to contribute to the team's success as they aim for a strong finish in the league.
