Marty Wright Discusses Creation of WWE Character The Boogeyman
Professional wrestler Marty Wright, also known as The Boogeyman, revealed that he created his character while facing personal challenges after being fired by WWE. He debuted in 2005 following his appearance on the reality series Tough Enough.
Wright explained that the concept for The Boogeyman emerged during his time in WWE's developmental system. He recounted a match where he suffered significant injuries, including the loss of nine teeth, which altered his perspective and contributed to the character's development.
After the incident, Wright was initially let go by WWE, but he credited Hall of Famers Booker T and The Undertaker for advocating on his behalf to secure his return. During his recovery, he further developed the Boogeyman persona, which he described as a manifestation of his experiences.
