Mass Evacuations Ordered in Reno, Nevada Due to Wildfire Threat

Tens of thousands of residents in Reno, Nevada, have been evacuated as a wildfire, known as the Hawk Fire, approaches the city. Local officials reported that approximately 42,000 people have been displaced, with another 45,000 advised to prepare for evacuation.

The fire has consumed 13,000 acres and is currently under investigation for its human-caused origins. Eyewitness accounts and local news footage depict flames nearing residential areas, prompting urgent evacuation measures.

In response to the situation, Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo declared a state of emergency for Washoe County and has mobilized National Guard resources to assist firefighting efforts. Despite the evacuations, Reno-Tahoe International Airport remains operational.
