Despite widespread acclaim for his win, Mateusz Gamrot, a fellow lightweight competitor, expressed skepticism, suggesting that Saint-Denis's errors contributed more to the outcome than Pimblett's skill. Gamrot noted that Saint-Denis's strategy was flawed, particularly in how he exposed his neck during the fight.

Gamrot, who is currently preparing for a bout against Quillan Salkilld at UFC Vegas 120, is ranked #6 in the lightweight division, while Pimblett is ranked #5. Gamrot has been pursuing a match with Pimblett since both joined the UFC in 2021.
