Mateusz Gamrot Faces Third Loss by Rear-Naked Choke at ADCC Championships
Mateusz Gamrot experienced his third loss by rear-naked choke within a year during the ADCC World Championships held in Krakow, Poland. The Polish lightweight was eliminated in the first round after being submitted by Elijah Dorsey.
Gamrot initially defended against Dorsey's takedown attempts for the first five minutes, but an adjustment by Dorsey allowed him to take Gamrot's back and secure the choke. Despite his grappling skills, Gamrot was unable to escape and tapped out, suffering a nose injury in the process.
This defeat follows a previous loss to Quillan Salkilld last month, which surprised many as Salkilld managed to defeat Gamrot at his own game. The event also featured a notable brawl involving Gordon Ryan, who was seen in a physical altercation after cornering a fighter to victory.
