Matheus Cunha Supports Brazilian Surfers with Sponsorship

Matheus Cunha, a footballer known for his celebrations that mimic surfing, has started sponsoring three surfers from Baía Formosa, Brazil, where he developed a passion for the sport. This support comes as he aims to assist local athletes in covering the costs associated with competing on the surfing circuit.

The surfers, including 29-year-old Israel Júnior, who has previously won a Brazilian title, now display Cunha's logo on their boards. This sponsorship allows them to pursue opportunities that would otherwise be financially challenging. Júnior noted that Cunha's involvement is significant, as it provides him with the means to compete more effectively.

Adauto Sena, another surfer on Cunha's team, expressed that this support has made it possible for him to participate in the Qualifying Series, which he previously could not afford. Alan Jhones, the third surfer, highlighted the importance of Cunha's backing for the growth of surfing in their community. Cunha's initiative reflects his deep connection to Baía Formosa and his desire to give back to the local surfing scene.
