Matt Hanson Optimizes Bike Setup for Kona Race
Matt Hanson, a veteran triathlete, is preparing for the Kona race with an enhanced bike setup, having contributed to the development of the Quintana Roo V-PRi. Known for his impressive running times, including a 2:28:03 at Challenge Roth, Hanson aims to leverage his bike performance to secure a top finish.
For the upcoming race, Hanson has customized his V-PRi with new aerodynamic bars, the Blackbird Delta Speed Mono Aero bar, designed to reduce weight with a carbon fiber construction. His best finish in Kona was 10th place, achieved during the last men's race on the Big Island, where he recorded the second-fastest run split.
Currently ranked second in the IRONMAN Pro Series standings, Hanson is looking for a strong performance, although winning the series may be challenging due to his previous race counts. A successful finish in Kona could lead to significant earnings for him.
