Matt Suhey, Former Penn State Fullback and Super Bowl Champion, Passes Away at 68

Matt Suhey, a former fullback for Penn State and a Super Bowl champion with the Chicago Bears, has passed away at the age of 68, according to an announcement made by the team on Monday morning.

Suhey played for the Nittany Lions from 1976 to 1979, accumulating 2,818 rushing yards and 26 touchdowns. He was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the second round of the 1980 NFL Draft and spent his entire ten-season NFL career with the team, where he rushed for 2,946 yards and scored 20 touchdowns, along with five receiving touchdowns.

During the Bears' Super Bowl run in 1985, Suhey was the starting fullback and scored the first touchdown in their 46-10 victory over the New England Patriots. He was known for his strong work ethic and unselfish nature, contributing significantly to the Bears' success during that era.
