Mauricio Pochettino Extends Tenure as USMNT Head Coach Until 2030 World Cup

U.S. Soccer announced that Mauricio Pochettino will remain the head coach of the men's national team, having signed a new contract that extends through the 2030 World Cup.

Pochettino's responsibilities will include leading the senior team over the next four years and advising U.S. Soccer on various topics, such as youth development and coaching education. His return is supported by a philanthropic leadership gift from federation donors.

Initially hired in September 2024, Pochettino's first term included a challenging World Cup campaign, where the team was eliminated in the round of 16. His new contract allows for a more extended period of development, including participation in the 2028 Copa America and the 2028 Olympics, as well as a focus on expanding the player pool ahead of the next World Cup.
