Max Quiles Secures 2026 Moto3 Championship in Indonesia
Maximo Quiles has been crowned the 2026 Moto3 champion after a commanding win at the Indonesian Grand Prix, securing the title with five races still to go in the season.
Arriving in Mandalika with a significant 127-point lead over his nearest rival, David Almansa, Quiles needed to maintain a 125-point advantage to clinch the championship. Despite qualifying sixth, he quickly moved up the ranks during the race, taking the lead after overtaking Almansa early on.
Quiles finished the race with a 2.9-second lead, marking his tenth victory of the year and extending his championship lead to an unassailable 132 points. His achievement mirrors that of his mentor, Marc Marquez, who won the 125cc title in 2010. Quiles is set to move up to Moto2 in 2027 while continuing with the Aspar team.
