Max Reaves Wins Controversial ARCA Race at Springfield
Max Reaves achieved a controversial victory in the ARCA Menard's Series race at the Springfield Mile in Illinois on Sunday, leading 98 of 100 laps.
As the race neared its conclusion, Reaves faced slower traffic, allowing Gavan Boschele to take the lead with three laps remaining. However, contact between the two drivers resulted in Boschele losing control and dropping to fifth place. Despite the incident, Reaves claimed his sixth career win, followed by Isaac Kitzmiller in second and Thomas Annunziata in third.
The aftermath saw Boschele visibly upset, attempting to confront Reaves in Victory Lane and expressing his frustration on social media. Fans also reacted negatively, booing Reaves during the post-race celebrations. Reaves acknowledged the incident, stating he would review the replay to understand the contact better.
