Max Verstappen Could Shine at Monza Despite Zandvoort Struggles

Max Verstappen is poised to be a surprising contender at the Italian Grand Prix, thanks to Red Bull's straight-line efficiency, despite the team's lackluster performance at Zandvoort.

Former Formula 1 driver Christijan Albers suggests that the Monza circuit may mitigate some of the RB22's weaknesses, particularly in medium- and high-speed corners, which are less prominent at this track. He believes that Red Bull's low drag setup could enhance their competitiveness.

Additionally, championship leader Kimi Antonelli is anticipated to face an engine-related penalty, potentially easing Verstappen's path to victory. Albers notes that Ferrari and McLaren may struggle at Monza, providing Verstappen with a unique opportunity to secure a win before the championship dynamics shift. However, he predicts that the title race will eventually narrow down to Antonelli and Lando Norris, who is currently fourth in the standings.
