Max Verstappen Discusses Radio Issues and Upcoming Engineer Transition
Max Verstappen faced communication difficulties with his race engineer Gianpiero Lambiase during the Singapore Grand Prix due to radio problems, which forced them to use coded messages. Despite these challenges, Verstappen secured a strong performance, maintaining his position after a critical start.
Verstappen noted that the start was problematic, with issues arising before he released the clutch. He managed to navigate deployment issues during the race, although his radio malfunction persisted, complicating communication with his team.
Following the race, Lambiase joined Verstappen on the podium, marking a special moment as he prepares to leave Red Bull. Tom Hart is set to replace Lambiase as Verstappen's race engineer, with plans for Hart to work with Verstappen in upcoming races, while Lambiase will continue to fulfill his role as Head of Racing during the transition.
