Max Verstappen Extends Red Bull Contract Until 2030
Max Verstappen, the four-time world champion, has announced a contract extension with Red Bull that will keep him with the team until 2030. This announcement was made on Thursday, alleviating earlier speculation about his potential departure from Formula 1.
Stefano Domenicali, the chief of Formula 1, expressed his enthusiasm regarding Verstappen's decision, stating that he cannot envision the sport without him. The extension comes amid discussions about regulatory changes for the 2027 season, which may have influenced Verstappen's choice to remain with Red Bull.
Despite the positive news, Verstappen faced challenges during the Dutch Grand Prix weekend, finishing sixth in the sprint race and qualifying seventh for the main event. He noted that the car's balance issues have been a persistent problem, particularly at the Zandvoort circuit, which has highlighted the weaknesses of the RB22.
