Red Bull's struggles this season stem from a significant performance deficit, particularly in chassis dynamics and excess weight of the RB22, which has resulted in slower race times. Although improvements have been noted in recent races, Verstappen believes that new issues arise each weekend, complicating their efforts to secure consistent performance.

Verstappen specifically mentioned experiencing car degradation in Hungary, which he feels is a critical issue that needs resolution. Technical director Pierre Wache acknowledged the car's limitations, particularly regarding corner entry stability and mid-corner understeer, which both drivers have reported.
