Max Verstappen Secures Pole Position at Singapore Grand Prix
Max Verstappen secured pole position for the Singapore Grand Prix, finishing ahead of Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton. Verstappen clocked a time of 1m31.373s, just 0.054s faster than Leclerc, marking his second pole of the weekend.
During the qualifying sessions, Hamilton initially dominated Q1 and Q2 but struggled in the final segment. He recorded a best time of 1m31.496s in Q3, which was not enough to surpass Verstappen. Kimi Antonelli and George Russell from Mercedes finished fourth and sixth, respectively, with Russell facing a grid penalty.
Several drivers encountered difficulties, including Esteban Ocon and Lance Stroll, who both had minor incidents. Isack Hadjar also faced issues, stopping on track during Q1. Ultimately, Verstappen's performance highlighted the competitive nature of the qualifying rounds at Marina Bay.
