Max Verstappen Shares Mixed Feelings on Madrid's New F1 Circuit
Max Verstappen has commented on the new Formula 1 circuit around the IFEMA complex in Madrid, noting that the organizers have done well, although he remains opposed to street circuits. His remarks come after the circuit's debut, which saw fewer incidents than anticipated, despite crashes in F3 and F2 sessions.
During the Spanish Grand Prix, the only notable incident in F1 was a crash involving Arvid Lindblad. Verstappen indicated that while the track has not proven to be excessively dangerous for F1 cars, he still prefers traditional tracks like Spa over street circuits.
Red Bull's technical director, Pierre Wache, described the Madrid circuit as challenging due to its variety of corners, though he predicted difficulties in overtaking. Verstappen, who finished sixth in practice, mentioned needing to improve the car's balance and expressed confidence that any issues with power steering would be resolved for the remainder of the weekend.
