Max Verstappen Supports Chris Lulham Amid Online Abuse
Max Verstappen has come to the defense of his teammate Chris Lulham, who experienced significant online abuse after a collision during the GT World Challenge Europe season finale in Portimao.
The incident took place during the second hour of the three-hour Endurance Cup race when Lulham attempted an inside maneuver on Luca Stolz, resulting in contact that led to a drive-through penalty for Lulham's car. This penalty dropped the team from a potential podium finish to 24th place, although Verstappen later recovered to finish ninth.
In response to the backlash against Lulham, Verstappen addressed the issue on Instagram, condemning the personal attacks and emphasizing that mistakes are part of racing. Lulham acknowledged the clash and expressed regret for the incident, while also thanking his team for their efforts during the challenging race weekend.
