Max Verstappen Wins First Singapore Grand Prix After 10 Attempts
Max Verstappen achieved his first victory at the Singapore Grand Prix on Sunday, marking a significant milestone in his racing career.
The Red Bull driver, who started from pole position, maintained his lead throughout the race, fending off challenges from Ferrari's Charles Leclerc at the beginning. Despite a midrace pit stop and communication issues with his team due to a faulty radio, Verstappen finished 7.3 seconds ahead of Leclerc.
This win was particularly notable as it came during Verstappen's 250th Grand Prix start, making it his 73rd career victory and the first at Singapore after ten attempts. He has now won every race on the 2026 schedule except for the Spanish Grand Prix. Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli finished third, while McLaren's Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri took fourth and fifth, respectively.
