Maya World Ready for AEW Return After Medical Absence

Maya World, a former AEW TBS Champion, is preparing for her return to the ring after being sidelined for a month. She made a surprise appearance during the AEW WrestleDream 2026 Buy-In, where she shared positive news about her in-ring future.

World had not participated in AEW programming since her last match on September 9, 2026, as she took time off to recover from an undisclosed medical procedure, reportedly related to appendicitis. During the WrestleDream Buy-In, she confirmed that she has been medically cleared to compete again.

Although she did not specify a return date, her announcement indicates she is eager to resume wrestling. World previously held the TBS Championship for 35 days before losing it to Persephone, with interference from Britt Baker affecting the outcome. With her clearance to wrestle, she may soon pursue another title opportunity, especially as Persephone is set to defend the championship at WrestleDream.
