Maya World Shares AEW's Support Following Brother's Death
Maya World has revealed that AEW offered mental health support to her and her family following the death of her brother, Jatwane Wilson, who passed away at the age of 25 on June 7 after being struck by an SUV.
A GoFundMe campaign raised nearly $20,000 for funeral expenses, with a notable $5,000 contribution from AEW's Tony Khan. Maya World expressed gratitude for the support she received from AEW, stating that focusing on wrestling has aided her during her grieving process.
In addition to coping with her loss, Maya World has been making strides in AEW, currently holding the TBS Championship. Although she has not yet confirmed a title defense for the upcoming All In event, she is optimistic about a potential match against Persephone, who recently pinned her in a trios match.
