McLaren Continues Development of 2026 F1 Car Amidst Championship Challenges

McLaren is actively pursuing upgrades for its 2026 Formula 1 car, believing that enhancements can still be beneficial without hindering its 2027 project. The team has shown improvement after a challenging start to the season, highlighted by a recent upgrade package introduced in Hungary.

This latest update, which includes a revised floor and a new front wing, follows previous enhancements made in Miami and Montreal. These developments have allowed driver Lando Norris to secure the team's first victory of the season, although McLaren remains significantly behind championship leader Mercedes.

Despite the late timing of these upgrades, McLaren's technical director noted that the lessons learned this year will be applicable to the 2027 car, which is already in development. The team plans to continue introducing major parts throughout the season, aiming to improve performance and competitiveness on the track.
