McLaren Prepares for Mexico City Grand Prix with Fornaroli
The McLaren Mastercard Formula 1 Team is set to compete in the Mexico City Grand Prix as the 2026 season approaches its conclusion. With only five races left, McLaren and Red Bull are tied in points, intensifying the competition for third place in the Constructors' Championship.
This race is part of a challenging triple-header in the Americas, following the Austin Grand Prix and leading into the So Paulo Grand Prix. The Autodromo Hermanos Rodríguez, located at a high altitude of 2,238 meters, presents unique challenges, including reduced aerodynamic load and cooling issues, which require specific car adjustments.
Leonardo Fornaroli will take the wheel of the MCL40 for Free Practice 1, stepping in for Lando Norris. Fornaroli has previously participated in FP1 sessions and aims to assist the team in optimizing car performance. McLaren's goal for this weekend is to secure a solid performance to enhance their standings in both the Drivers' and Constructors' Championships.
