McLaren's Andrea Stella Calls for Unity After Sprint Race Incident
Andrea Stella, the team principal of McLaren, has called for unity among his drivers after a collision between Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri during the Sprint race at the Singapore Grand Prix. Although both drivers finished in the points during the main event, the incident overshadowed their performance.
The clash occurred on the final lap of the Sprint race when Norris attempted an aggressive maneuver on Piastri, resulting in heavy contact that sent Piastri into the wall and left Norris to finish eighth. Following the race, Stella held a meeting with both drivers to address the incident and reinforce the importance of team interests over individual ambitions.
Stella acknowledged the current limitations of the McLaren car in competing with top teams like Red Bull and Ferrari. He expressed hope for upcoming races in Austin, Mexico, and Brazil, mentioning that a significant development package is in preparation to enhance performance and competitiveness.
