Megan Davey Revives International Rugby Aspirations with Wales

Megan Davey, a 26-year-old scrum-half, has rekindled her international rugby aspirations after receiving a call-up to the Wales squad for the upcoming WXV Global Series.

Previously, Davey, who holds the record for the most appearances for Loughborough Lightning with 124 caps, faced setbacks when she was not selected for the 2026 Six Nations squad and was omitted from the extended training squad. Despite these challenges, she expressed her determination to continue pursuing her goals.

Davey, who qualifies for Wales through her grandfather, noted the improvements in the Welsh rugby pathway for younger players. She has primarily trained at scrum-half and is competing with teammates for a spot in the lineup. The Wales team will begin their WXV campaign against South Africa on September 18, and Davey is eager to represent her country and honor her family's support throughout her journey.
