Melbourne Acquires Zane Duursma in Trade with North Melbourne
Melbourne has completed a trade with North Melbourne, acquiring forward Zane Duursma in exchange for draft picks 33 and 49, while sending pick 52 back to the Dees.
Duursma, who is 21 years old, has signed a two-year contract with Melbourne, which will keep him at the club until the end of 2028. He was selected with pick 4 in the 2023 National Draft and has participated in 38 games, scoring 28 goals during his time at North Melbourne.
Despite North Melbourne's efforts to retain him, including attempts by new coach Jaymie Graham to persuade him to stay, Duursma expressed a desire to join Melbourne and play under coach Steven King. North Melbourne is now looking to utilize picks 33 and 49 to potentially secure Adelaide's key defender Nick Murray, having already offered a future first-round selection along with pick 33 for the player.
