Mets Abandon Trade for Clay Holmes with Diamondbacks

The New York Mets have decided not to proceed with a trade that would have sent pitcher Clay Holmes to the Arizona Diamondbacks. This decision came after the teams exchanged medical information regarding the players involved, leading to concerns from the Mets about one of the prospects from Arizona.

Negotiations reached a standstill just hours before the trade deadline, as the Mets could not agree on the terms after attempting to modify the deal. Consequently, Holmes was traded to the Chicago Cubs instead, along with outfielder Tyrone Taylor, in exchange for infield prospect Jefferson Rojas.
