Mets' Andy Green Chooses Family Over Full-Time Manager Role

Andy Green has expressed a preference for family over a permanent managerial position with the New York Mets, citing his desire to be present for his twin daughters, Emily and Anna, who are nearing the end of high school.

Since taking over for Carlos Mendoza on June 26, the Mets have achieved a record of 26-27, which has led to discussions about Green potentially remaining as manager. However, both Green and Mets president of baseball operations David Stearns have indicated that the plan is for him to return to the front office, where he previously served as farm director.

Green's family resides in Tennessee, and he has not relocated to New York during his tenure. His experience includes managing the San Diego Padres and serving as a bench coach for the Chicago Cubs. While the Mets have improved under his leadership, they still face significant challenges in the standings.
