Mets Designate Kevin Herget for Assignment, Select Bryce Conley

The New York Mets have made roster changes by designating Kevin Herget for assignment and selecting Bryce Conley for the 40-man roster. Right-hander Robert Stock has been recalled to start today's game against the Miami Marlins.

Herget's designation follows a brief stint with the team, having just been called up the previous day. He made a single appearance, retiring the Marlins in order during the ninth inning, although the Mets lost the game 6-2. Jonathan Pintaro has been optioned to Triple-A Syracuse to accommodate these roster moves.

Herget, who rejoined the Mets on a minor league deal after finishing the 2025 season with them, has struggled with injuries this season, pitching only 13 1/3 innings across three levels since late June. In contrast, Conley, who is set to make his major league debut, has spent most of his career in the minors and has shown inconsistent performance. Stock, who has recently recovered from an injury, is expected to make a spot start today.
