Mets Make Roster Changes, Designate Hevin Herget for Assignment

The New York Mets have made roster adjustments by designating right-hander Hevin Herget for assignment and selecting Bryce Conley for the 40-man roster. This change coincides with the recall of Robert Stock, who is set to start today's game against the Miami Marlins.

Herget's designation follows a brief stint with the Mets, having just been called up the previous day. He made a single appearance, retiring the Marlins in order during the ninth inning, although the Mets ultimately lost the game 6-2. Jonathan Pintaro, who pitched two innings of relief and threw 43 pitches, is being sent to Triple-A Syracuse.

Herget had a solid performance in the minor leagues last season, achieving a 3.09 ERA over 46 2/3 innings. However, his major league statistics show a 4.13 ERA across 56 2/3 innings throughout his career, which has included time with five different teams. As a result of his designation, he may have the option to elect free agency if he clears waivers.
