The 29-year-old left-hander struck out pinch-hitter Angel Martínez with a slider, marking a successful debut in the Mets' 6-5 victory. Following the strikeout, Yan performed a leap, landed on the mound, and slapped the grass with his left hand, a celebration he had previously showcased during spring training.
